Chris Reade graduated from Wartburg College of Waverly, IA in 1997. A former Knight football player, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. Chris’ passion for football led him to be an assistant coach for the Wartburg Knights. His experience coaching helped him learn the valuable task of teaching others.
While coaching, Chris worked as a carpenter for Cousins Custom Builders framing residential building projects and executing blueprint layouts.
Chris soon moved on to Barmuda Corporation in Cedar Falls where he was acting as Vice President of Property Development. He was responsible for general contracting, project management on various builds, remodels, and historical building revivals. His portfolio is on display at all Barmuda venues in the Cedar Valley.
In 2011, Chris chased his dream of self-employment and became a franchise owner for The Brickkicker Inspection Services. His past professional experiences and home inspection training will put you at ease as you transition from prospective home buyer to owning a home to call your own.

Radon is a cancer-causing, radioactive gas. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, killing 21,000 people per year in the United States. You cannot see, smell or taste radon, however, when you breathe air containing radon, you increase your risk of getting lung cancer. Testing is the only way to find out your home’s radon levels. The EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes for radon. If you find that there are high levels, the home can be fixed. Even very high levels of radon can be reduced to acceptable levels.
Most “New Construction” homes have undergone a rigorous municipal or code compliance inspection process, likely at least four “code” inspections. The BrickKicker new construction inspection goes beyond that, looking at the home for not only the functionality of the systems but those cosmetic and unfinished items as well. A new construction inspection will assist you with your Punch List creation and interpretation, helping to ensure your home is perfect before taking ownership.
