Meet Your BrickKicker Team
One of the greatest elements of excitement for me is educating and sharing information with others, exactly the reason I wanted to get into the world of inspections. If communicated properly, I firmly believe anyone can understand anything about the buildings they live and work. In today’s society however, and being a younger individual myself, I know it is easy to get lost in the glam of fancy design/trends. My goal as an inspector is to take my passion of sharing information/education and help others enjoy the process of real estate, to create an environment that we can all live and work successfully.
In addition to doing inspections, I help manage and run a successful hemp farm outside of Madison. Horticulture is a passion of mine and the farm allows me to get into an element of nature. Managing plants isn’t easy and in fact it can be very complicated which is the thrill of it all. The natural world defines who we are as a living species, and if given the right amount of attention to detail and care, the natural world can provide for and help the world survive. Like inspections, tending to organic plants takes a great deal of patience, understanding, and knowledge… these are all items I spend my time mastering.
While I don’t have a background in the trades, I have done multiple mechanical projects (taking cars apart and rebuilding them), as well as an extensive music career (self-taught). I studied music science at the Madison Media Institute before realizing I wanted to just jump in and do my own gig. Having taught myself how to play the piano, drums, guitar, I said why not. From there I did music stage set-ups, DJing, track releases, etc. The passions listed above have driven me to master the inspection industry and I am confidant my clients will leave better educated and well informed.

Radon is a cancer-causing, radioactive gas. The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer, killing 21,000 people per year in the United States. You cannot see, smell or taste radon, however, when you breathe air containing radon, you increase your risk of getting lung cancer. Testing is the only way to find out your home’s radon levels. The EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes for radon. If you find that there are high levels, the home can be fixed. Even very high levels of radon can be reduced to acceptable levels.
Mold is a naturally occurring process that is present throughout the world. Some circumstances can provide adverse and potentially dangerous conditions to humans when certain species of molds are present in a home. Through professional sampling, the actual presence of mold can be determined and by what means would be necessary to treat the specimen found within the home.
Most “New Construction” homes have undergone a rigorous municipal or code compliance inspection process, likely at least four “code” inspections. The BrickKicker new construction inspection goes beyond that, looking at the home for not only the functionality of the systems but those cosmetic and unfinished items as well. A new construction inspection will assist you with your Punch List creation and interpretation, helping to ensure your home is perfect before taking ownership.
Most people make routine visits to their Doctors. Most people do not make routine reviews of their homes. A Home Maintenance Review is like an annual check up. The BrickKicker inspector is an expert at your home and will help you keep your investment in good shape. We have a unique perspective because we are there to sell products or services but only to help you keep your home in the best condition possible. This review will help you prioritise your maintenance and potentially prevent unnecessary or unforeseen expenditures.
A modular home is one which was not built on site but rather trucked in and placed on the pad or home-site. This home was built in a controlled factory. These homes are typically constructed much differently than site built homes. They can require different HVAC equipment, different roofing as well as different plumbing and electric. Most are without foundations and are anchored to the ground.
Thermal imaging or the use of infrared cameras has become a very widely accepted practice of home inspectors. It is yet another tool to allow The BrickKicker to help you purchase your home intelligently. The thermal camera can help identify thermal openings in your home, possible plumbing leaks in the walls, potentially damaging cracks leaks in the foundation or even issues under low sloped or flat roofs. Unlike many of our competitors, we do not charge extra for using the tools that we have on hand. IR thermography is included with every home inspection.
